‘Finally sharam kar li’ – Fans react as videos of Jasprit Bumrah bowling to Mumbai batter in practice game at NCA surface

Jasprit Bumrah has been out of competitive action since September 2022 due to a stress fracture. He had to undergo surgery and is currently in rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. There has been a lot of speculation around his returning match fitness. It has been reported that he will be a part of the travelling squad for the T20I series against Ireland. The same was also reiterated by Indian Cricket Board honorary secretary Jay Shah recently.

In the latest update, a video of Jasprit Bumrah bowling to Mumbai batters during a practice game at the NCA surfaced online. In the video, the Indian pace ace can be seen bowling full throttle to the batters. However, it is not sure if his average speed has decreased from earlier. In the video, the batter facing him played his deliveries comfortably. The viral video has already done several rounds on social media and Twitter users have flooded its comment section.

Jasprit Bumrah returned with figures of 1/34 in 10 overs

For the past two weeks, the Mumbai senior team has been camping in Alur in Bengaluru at a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) facility. In their preparation, they had the chance to face Jasprit Bumrah who tried all his variations in his return to a competitive atmosphere. Bumrah completed his quota of 10 overs in two spells and returned with figures of 1/34 in ten overs including two maidens. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the opener for Mumbai went for an eight-ball duck and was Bumrah’s only scalp from the practice match.

The video demonstrated Bumrah’s match fitness. There would be high hopes for the pace ace upon his return to international cricket. As of now, the three-match T20I series against Ireland seems to be his way back. The two major tournaments – Asia Cup ODI 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 are the ones that Bumrah is eyeing.
