India and Nepal will lock horns on 4 September, Monday at the Pallekele international cricket stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka from 3 PM IST. It is the first time India and Nepal will encounter each other for an international match as Nepal qualified for the first time for Asia Cup. However, the team’s encounter is expected to be disrupted by rain as it might be a spoilsport for the Indian cricket team plans yet again. 

India will play their second match of the Asia Cup against Nepal in Group A. India has already played their first match of the group stage against Pakistan which unfortunately ended as a draw. India and Pakistan match was held on 2 September at Kandy, Sri Lanka. The match was abandoned after the first innings due to a constant heavy downpour, which led to the game being tied. Pakistan dismissed India’s batting order for 266 runs at the end of 48.5 overs.

As predicted by Google weather, similar conditions might prevail in Kandy, Sri Lanka even today on 4 September for the India and Nepal encounter. There are 40% chances of rain during the second half of the match. The precipitation levels are expected to be 80% while the temperature is expected to be somewhere around 27°. Humidity levels might be around 81%, the wind speed could range from 15 to 25 km/h. 

This encounter will be the last match of Group A of Asia Cup as after today the top two teams will move to the super four stage of the tournament where they will encounter the top two teams from the Group B. Pakistan have already qualified for the super four stage, as in their first game, they beat Nepal with a huge margin while their second game with India ended as a draw. Currently with three points, Pakistan stands on the first spot on the points table of group A. 

Whoever wins between India and Nepal will qualify further for the super four stage. Currently, India stands on the second spot on the points table with one point while Nepal stands on the third with zero points.
