WATCH: Fans put demand with police in exchange of Kapil Dev in ODI WC advert

On September 25, a video of former India skipper Kapil Dev being kidnapped was going viral and shared by other former players. Meanwhile, in a fresh advertisement by the official broadcaster, the 1983 World Cup winner was surrounded by his kidnappers. The kidnappers’ house was surrounded by the police. The cops asked the kidnappers to leave Dev alone. On the other hand, the kidnappers made some demands with the police.

Meanwhile, talking about the Indian team, they are yet to win an ODI World Cup after 2011. 12 years back, they hosted the tournament alongside Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This time around, India will host the tournament solely for the first time. In 1987 and 1996, they co-hosted the tournament with Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Ahead of the upcoming tournament, the Men In Blue have won the Asia Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the final squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 will be announced on September 28. The preliminary squad was announced on September 5.
