South Africa will aim to boost their chances of making it to the semi-finals when they take on struggling Bangladesh. South Africa has emerged as one of the strongest teams of the tournament. The team has exuded some great character so far and are placed at the second position in Group A.

The Proteas lost their opening fixture to Australia. They, however, made a strong comeback by securing two straight wins in the tournament. The team looked pretty dominating in the previous game against Sri Lanka. In what was a thriller game, the side ticked most of their boxes. 

South Africa has a potent bowling unit, with good spin options and some impactful pacers as well. Also, the team has to deal with a major blow as their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a hamstring injury. 

Their batters haven’t had a very good time in the mega event so far. They have performed in bits and pieces but haven’t been able to put up a good show in unison. The bowlers, on the other hand, have lacked discipline in their bowling. Heading into this encounter, the team will aim to improve in all three departments and secure their first victory of the tournament.

The pitch of the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi hasn’t been inclined towards the batters. Chasing teams have enjoyed some good success in the tournament so far.
