Shubman Gill remains at top while Virat-Rohit claim number 3 and 4 spot in latest Men’s ODI Rankings
After the conclusion of the ODI World Cup 2023, there has been a lot of changes in the official Men’s ODI Rankings which is presented by the apex cricket Council after every few days when there is a change in the ranking point of a player. The Indian players had shown a stellar performance throughout the ODI World Cup 2023 which made them have a huge jump in the Men’s ODI rankings.
During the tournament Shubman Gill dethroned the previous number 1 ODI batsman, and former Pakistan captain Babar Azam as he overtook him by two points in the rankings. In the latest version of the men’s ODI rankings, Gill has maintained his position as the top ODI batsman.
Virat Kohli once again enter top three of men’s ODI rankings
On the other hand India’s former captain and number 1 ODI player Virat Kohli has gained a lot of points in the rankings throughout the tournament for his three centuries and consistent half centuries. In the latest rankings Virat Kohli has registered 791 ranking points and currently stands on the number three position of the men’s ODI rankings.
Previously, Virat Kohli maintained his position as a number 1 ODI batsman for four consecutive years from 2017 to 2021 and remained at the top for 1258 days without anyone disrupting his position as the number 1 ODI batsman. After almost 2 years Virat Kohli is back to reclaim the number one spot.
On the other hand India’s opening batter and captain Rohit Sharma has once again made a huge mark on the men’s ODI rankings as he scored 597 runs in the ODI World Cup 2023 and has jumped to the number four position on the rankings with 769 points.
