Brett Lee high in praise for these two Pakistan stalwarts, says team Pakistan can conquer the world
Former Australia pacer Brett Lee has said that Pakistan left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi is an amazing bowler. Afridi is currently leading the Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2022 . He played in the U19 World Cup in 2018 and in the same year, he made his international debut in all formats of the game.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-born player has picked 86 wickets in 21 Tests, 53 wickets in 28 ODIs, and 45 wickets in 30 T20Is since then. Last year, he took three big wickets against India in the form of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli in the 20-20 World Cup game and helped Pakistan fetch their maiden win against archrivals in global events.
Meanwhile, Lee analyzed Afridi’s bowling and said that his pace in addition to his height makes him a lethal bowler. The former speedster also lauded Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.
“Shaheen Afridi is an amazing bowler, he’s got a really good pace, he’s tall, gets a beautiful bounce. I am a big fan of him,” Lee said. “Babar Azam has an amazing technique and he could have the best cover drive in world cricket,” he added.
The 2003 50-over World Cup winner further added that Pakistan are still not aware of their prowess, and how good a team they can be. He urged to the team to instill self belief and think that they can conquer the world. “They have the right team and structure but deep down they probably don’t believe they are as good as what they can be. I want Pakistan cricket to have belief in themselves and instillment of energy amongst their teammates. I want the young Pakistani players to come through to back themselves because they could be anything,” he added.
