Karachi Kings held their nerves to beat Lahore Qalandars by two wickets on Saturday night. This loss meant that Shaheen Shah Afridi and his team had lost four games in a row. Veteran star Kieron Pollard was the star for Karachi with his fielding skills and bat in hand later.

Mir Hamza bowled a shortish ball which Jahandad Khan tried to hit out of the ground. Kieron Pollard used his height to good effect and reached for the ball with one hand. For a moment it looked like it was LeBron James trying to slam dunk the ball.

Showing good presence of mind, Pollard made sure the ball was still in play in the air. The former West Indian skipper was quick to make his way back into the ground to take the catch.

Lahore Qalandars lose yet another game –

Shaheen Afridi would be disheartened to lose yet another game with Kieron Pollard showing his batting brilliance. The former West Indian player scored 58 runs to knock the fight out of the Lahore bowlers.

At one stage, Karachi Kings were 44/4 while chasing 176 to win. This brought old heads, Kieron Pollard and Shoaib Malik. The pair put on a crucial stand before the game changed once again.

The next game for Lahore is on Sunday when they will face the Peshawar Zalmi side. Babar Azam and his side have just won their first game of the tournament. Multan Sultans saw their unbeaten start snapped after losing to Peshawar.

Mohammad Amir has been earning rave reviews after his amazing performances with the ball. With the T20 World Cup around the corner, Shaheen Afridi is hopeful that Amir will come out of retirement.

“I will talk to Mohammad Amir if he is available to come back for Pakistan once again. Amir and I bowled together after almost five years. It was a very good experience to bowl with him, our partnership was great,” said Afridi to Pakistan Cricket’s official cricket Twitter handle.

Haris Rauf the under-fire bowler got injured while taking a catch during the game on Saturday. While speaking to the media, Afridi gave an update on Rauf’s injury and said, “Haris Rauf is injured, he bowled really well today and I hope he recovers soon. I don’t know the extent of his injury, but we’re praying for him.”
