‘Ab 3 din kya karu’ – Fans react as India beat South Africa by 7 wickets in 2nd Test Match on Day 2
India and South Africa recently met for the 2nd Test match of India’s tour of South Africa. The last match of the series saw highs and lows and became one of the most thrilling Test matches. In the game, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat to put a high score on the board. The Proteas batters were not prepared for the wrath of the Indian bowlers.
South Africa got dismissed for a meagre 55 runs in the first innings as Mohammed Siraj took a six-wicket haul, followed by the two wickets of Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar. Kyle Verreynne and David Bedingham became the only batters to score runs in double digits.
The Indian batsman Virat Kohli scored 46 runs off 59 balls with a strike rate of 77.79. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put on a thrilling show along with Virat and scored 39 and 36 runs each off 50 and 44 balls respectively. India got dismissed for 153 runs as 6 batters lost back-to-back wickets in two overs.

South Africa got a huge lead as their opening batter Aiden Markram scored 106 runs in just 103 balls, but their middle order failed to impress and the team got dismissed for 176 runs. The Indian team got a low target of 80 runs to chase in the 2nd innings and the team won the match on Day 2 of the 2nd Test Match.
In the post-match ceremony, Indian captain Rohit Sharma talked about the Test series and the draw. He said, “A great feat. In Centurion, we had to learn from our mistakes. We came back very well, especially our bowlers. Had some plans and the boys got rewarded. We applied ourselves, we batted well to get a 100-run lead, not pleasing to see the last six wickets. We knew that it’s going to be a short game, we knew every run matters, and to get that lead was very important.”
