‘Abe toh isme mera kya fayda’ – Fans react as ECB launches England’s brand new ODI jersey
England Cricket Board revealed their brand new ODI kit and again it is completely different from their T20I jersey which is based on the core red color, while the ODI jersey remains to be of blue color. However, almost all the English players are currently busy in playing the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.
England will be in action in an ODI series just before the 2023 ODI World Cup against New Zealand in September this year where they will be seen donning the jersey for the first time ever. However, England women’s team will be in action against Australia in an ODI series in July and will wear the new ODI jersey for the first time.
We want fast, flat wickets: Ben Stokes on Ashes surfaces
Meanwhile, the England Test team captain Ben Stokes has set a brilliant benchmark for the team recently as they whitewashed Pakistan on their home. Stokes will be leading the three Lions next in the much-awaited Ashes series. He has captained England in 12 Tests so far and won 10 of them. Meanwhile, Stokes recently said that he wants Ashes surfaces that will allow the batters to score runs quickly.
“We’ve been very clear with the groundstaff around England about what type of wickets we want and they’ve been very responsive to us, which is good. We want fast, flat wickets. We want to go out there and score quickly. I’m smiling because I’m looking forward to it.
“Hold me to it. Every game I play this summer will be to produce a result. I’m not going to change anything just because it’s the Ashes. I’m not going to change for anything or any situation, because then I’m not being true to myself and what I’ve done over the last year.”
