“Absolutely Destroying England” – Fans Praise India As They Seal The T20I Series Against England After Another Thrashing Win In The Second T20I
After winning the first T20I of the series, India was scheduled to face England for the second match at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India came into this match with a motive to seal the series while England was looking to level the series by winning the match. As expected, India made three changes as Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja made a comeback into the playing XI.
On the other hand, England also made some changes as David Willey came back into the playing XI. Richard Gleeson was handed a debut cap ahead of this match. Indian fans were not so happy as the in-form batter, Deepak Hooda missed out on the playing XI.
Now, speaking about the match, England won the toss and opted to field first. While batting first, India surprised everyone as a new opening pair came out in the form of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. They both gave a fantastic start as India lost their first wicket on 49 runs in just 4.5 overs. Virat Kohli failed again to score as he got out for one run only. Then, all the coming batters chipped in with some quick runs as India reached 170 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. Ravindra Jadeja was unbeaten as he scored 46* runs off 29 balls, including five fours. The debutant, Richard Gleeson was the pick of the bowlers for England as he picked up three crucial wickets in four overs by conceding only 15 runs.
In reply, India started with a bang as Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the wicket of Jason Roy with his first delivery of the innings. England batters tried but failed to score runs as they were struggling at 60 runs by losing six wickets in just 10.2 overs. After that, Moeen Ali tried to score some quick runs before he lost his wicket to Hardik Pandya at a score of 35 runs off 21 balls. David Willey remained not out by scoring 33* runs off 22 balls. But, England got bundled out for 121 runs in just 17 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had another impressive outing as he grabbed three wickets in his three overs by conceding 15 runs only. Along with him, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal also picked up two wickets each in the match. With this win, India sealed the series with one match to go on 10 July 2022 as India will look to clean sweep England in this series.
