‘Achha hua pehle bowling karne nahi aaya warna poore 10 wickets le jata’ – Fans react as Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havocs on West Indies in first One Day International

India showed their class as well as completely outplayed the host West Indies in the first One Day International on Thursday at Kensington Oval in Barbados. One of the major protagonists of the show was Kuldeep Yadav who rattled the West Indian batting lineup with some quality spin and ended up with a figure of 4 for 6 in his spell of three overs. The left-arm spinner wreaked havoc on the host and accounted for the dismissal of skipper Shai Hope (43), Dominic Drakes (3), Y Cariah (3), and Jayden Seales (0).

The two-time World Champions defeated, India after winning the toss asked the host to bat on a pitch that was initially better to bat on. West Indies, meanwhile, struggled to perform with the bat. The team led by Shai Hope played subpar cricket and was disqualified from the ODI World Cup. At home versus India, a comeback was anticipated, but it was not to be. Even though Shimron Hetmyer was reinstated, the local team in Barbados was unable to have any sort of significant effect on the bat.

Alick Athanaze, who was looking excellent in the middle but failed to capitalize on his start, was dismissed by debutant Mukesh Kumar while openers Brandon King (17) and Kyle Mayers (2) walked back to the pavilion quite cheaply. But while Skipper Hope appeared to have potential, no other batter backed him. Hetmyer and Rovman Powell, for example, both failed to leave a lasting impression as the pressure mounted on the home squad.

As a result of their combined seven wickets, India’s spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav held the West Indies to just 114 runs in 23 overs. Jadeja took three wickets in six overs for 37 runs, while Yadav finished off the tail with four wickets in three overs for just six runs and two maidens. In the first innings, Rohit Sharma utilized all six of his bowling options, which is encouraging in advance of the 2019 ODI World Cup, which will start on October 5.
