‘Agle baras tumhe aana hi hoga’ – Fans react on MS Dhoni’s ‘I’m always there for CSK’ comment
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again advanced to the Indian Premier League (IPL) finals under the experienced MS Dhoni’s leadership. The Yellow Army, who were playing the reigning champions, were always in control as they scored 172 runs in their 20 overs. When Gujarat’s batters lost Saha, while chasing a small score, collapsed like a deck of cards.
CSK, while batting first, scored a total of 172 runs with the loss of seven wickets after the completion of the first innings. The highest scorer for the side was their opener, Gaikwad, who scored 60 runs off 44 balls with seven fours and a six in his innings. Star New Zealand batter, Devon Conway scored 40 runs from 34 balls, which included four boundaries in his innings.
I can be a very annoying Captain: MS Dhoni
For GT, the pick of the bowlers was Mohammad Shami and Mohit Sharma in their respective spells of four overs where they conceded 28 runs and 31 runs, respectively, in their spells. One wicket each was grabbed by Darshan Nalkande, Rashid Khan, and Noor Ahmed in their respective spells, where they conceded 44 runs, 37 runs, and 29 runs, respectively.
While chasing the target, the home side was able to score only 157 runs before getting bundled out for 157 runs in their 20 overs. The highest scorer for the side was Shubman Gill, who scored 42 runs from 38 balls with four boundaries and a six in his innings. In the end, Rashid played a quickfire knock of 30 runs from just 16 balls with three fours and two sixes in his innings but that was not enough for his side.
“I can be a very annoying captain, I keep shifting fielders 2-3 feet. Only request I ask from the fielders is, keep an eye on me. If there’s a dropped catch there will be no reaction (from me), just keep an eye on me. I don’t know (back next year?) – I have 8-9 months to decide. Why take that headache now. I’ll always be there for CSK, where it’s playing or something outside,”Dhoni was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
