Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni is one of those players whom opposition players want to learn from. Over the years, especially during IPL, players from other teams have approached and vice-versa. The same happened after the 29th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. After the CSK vs SRH game, the former India skipper was surrounded by the Sunrisers Hyderabad players.

In the video uploaded on Twitter by IPL, a lot of players were listening to the Ranchi-born. The incident happened after the home team, Super Kings won against the 2016 winners. Batting first, the Orange Army could only 134/7. At one stage, they were going fine at 74/1. The spinner of Chennai spun a web and restricted the opposition. In reply, the four-time winners won the game by seven wickets.

It’s the last phase of my career: MS Dhoni

Meanwhile, the three-time World Championship-winning captain has hinted at his retirement from IPL after the ongoing 16th season. In the post-match presentation after the game against the Sunrisers, Dhoni said that he is enjoying the last phase of his career.

“All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play [On the roar and crowd support]. After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. Crowd has given us a lot of love and affection. Not getting enough chances to bat, but no complaints,” Dhoni said in the post-match presentation after win against SRH.

Notably, ahead of the ongoing season, Deepak Chahar had rubbished the rumored retirement talks of MS Dhoni.

“No one has said that this would be his final year. At least, he hasn’t. Hopefully, he will play more. We don’t know any such thing, we want him to play as much as he can,” Chahar told News India Sports.

“He knows when to retire, we saw it when he did in Tests and international cricket. No one else knows. I just hope he continues to play, it’s a privilege to play under him. It has been a dream to play with him. He’s in good touch as well, you will see that when he bats in the IPL this year,” Chahar further said.
