Manchester City will lock horns with Arsenal in the 101st FA Community Shield game which will take place on Sunday, August 6 at the Wembley Stadium. In the last season, which is 2022-23, the Blues became the second Premier League side to complete a treble after their local rivals Manchester United. The ‘Cityzens’ won the English Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. Where on one side City will eye for their seventh title, on the other side Arsenal would be looking for their ninth title in this competition.
“The situation that we are in, we finished (last season) two weeks later than Arsenal and we start (this season) two weeks later. So, we are not in the best way. We struggle to restart every season but it’s fine, and hopefully our mentality can help us to be there and compete,” Guardiola was quoted as saying at Reuters ahead of their Community Shield fixture.
