The ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup is all set to commence on July 20 and this is the first time in history that the tournament will be co-hosted. All the matches will be played in Australia and New Zealand. A total of 32 teams will participate in the event and the final will be played at the Sydney Olympic Stadium on August 20.

The United States of America (USA) will start their campaign as defending champions in the upcoming edition and they will try their best to defend the title once again to complete a ‘three-peat’. They won the 2019 edition n France and the 2015 edition in Canada. The USA side is one of the strongest contenders to win the World Cup every time they participate in the tournament, but this time around the team of defending champions is inexperienced and the other teams have the opportunity to defeat them.

One of those teams is England, led by Sarah Wiegman. They won the Euro at Wembley last summer. The hosts, Australia are also the favourites to lift the title and have some star players like Sam Kerr who plays for Chelsea in club football. Teams like Spain, Germany, and France will look to challenge the USA in order to clinch the title. On the other hand, last year’s finalists, the Netherlands will try to take revenge against the Americans in the group stages.
