India and Bangladesh locked horns in a must-win game in the Super 12 round of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide. This game was a must-win for both teams as they are looking to close to the semis spot. Before this game, both teams played three games each, lost one each, and won one each. At the toss, the Green Brigade decided to bowl first with rain in the mind.

The decision was proved right as vice-captain KL Rahul was struggling and skipper Rohit Sharma got out cheaply. However, the former broke his shackles and got his form back with 32-ball 50 including three fours and four sixes. On the other hand, newly-crowned number one T20I batter, Surykumar Yadav carried with the good work done by Rahul. The former scored a quick 16-ball 30 including four fours.

In the end, Virat Kohli continued his love affair with the venue and his current form. He scored an unbeaten 64 off 44 balls including eight fours and a six. This helped his side amass a competitive total of 184/6.

Bangladesh tried hard but couldn’t cross the line

In reply, despite Nazmul Shanto’s struggle with the bat, Litton Das was making sure that the team kept up with the required rate. They started the innings at 66/0 in seven overs with Das batting on 59 before the rain interruption. At this moment, Bangladesh fans might have hoped for the rain to persist while the opposite feeling existed among the Indian fans.

However, the rain stopped and it meant that the overs and the targets were revised. The game resumed with a revised target of 151 runs in 16 overs for the Bangladesh Tigers. However, the rain interruption and the run-out of Das proved to be a blessing in disguise for the Men In Blue. From 66/0, they were reduced to 108/6. The likes of Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed tried well with the bat but couldn’t prevent their side from losing the game by six runs.
