The much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off in the month of October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where the two finals from last year, England and New Zealand lock horns against each other. The venues for the knockout games, semi-final and final are yet to be announced. The final is set to be hosted by Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

One of India’s biggest talents was rightfully chosen to be the face of the World Cup advertising in a promotional film for the upcoming ODI World Cup. The remarkable two-minute film, in which Shah Rukh Khan narrates and centers on the tournament’s slogan and tagline, “All it takes is one day.”

Khan, one of the most well-known actors in Indian cinema, has links to cricket thanks to his ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), an Indian Premier League (IPL) team. The video’s narration, which also plays on the name of the format, has the superstar talking about the feelings and experiences that come with the biggest cricket tournaments.

Rivalries will be redefined on the pitch, and respect reimagined in the stands: Shah Rukh Khan

“The difference between making history and being history: one day. Jerseys will be worn, and chests will swell with pride, on that one day. Passion will triumph over logic, and memories will be etched, on that one day. Fears will be conquered, and odds will be braved, on that one day. From the highs of joy, to the lows of anguish, it will all be embraced, on that one day,” narrates Shahrukh.

The video follows the release of a photograph of Shah Rukh holding the trophy that went viral online on Wednesday night. The film itself features images of supporters and memorable World Cup memories from each of the 10 competing nations, together with waving flags and vibrant national colors. Eoin Morgan, the captain of the team that won the 2019 World Cup, as well as Dinesh Karthik, Jonty Rhodes, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shubman Gill, and even Jemimah Rodrigues, dance with other Indian fans in the film as special guests.

“Rivalries will be redefined on the pitch, and respect reimagined in the stands. The power of belief will emerge from the hearts of a billion. Songs will be sung, dances will be danced, and eyes will widen in wonder, on that one day. And when that day comes, and when that day finally comes, glory will be immortalized. This is the Men’s Cricket World Cup, for everything ever dreamt for, pushed for, lived for, it takes one day,” concludes the movie star in the video.
