Apex Cricket Council reveals three venues for upcoming T20 World Cup in USA
The Apex Cricket Council has officially revealed the three venues that will host the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA. This marks a historic moment as it’s the first time this prestigious cricket event will be held on American soil. The chosen venues are Grand Prairie in Dallas, Broward County in Florida, and Nassau County in New York.
The decision to entrust the USA with hosting rights for this event was made by the board way back in November 2021. The USA will be hosting the tournament along with the West Indies Cricket Board. Meanwhile, the Apex Cricket Council’s press release revealed that the selection of these venues followed a thorough evaluation of various options.
One of the major highlights of this announcement is the plan to construct a 34,000-seat modular stadium. This facility will be constructed in Eisenhower Park, located in Nassau County, New York. However, approvals are pending for the required permits next month. This purpose-built sports and events park promises to provide a spectacular backdrop for the T20 World Cup matches.
India will face Pakistan at the newly constructed stadium
Meanwhile, according to news reports, Apex Cricket Council is looking to host a marquee India vs. Pakistan clash at the newly constructed stadium. It will enable the Indian and Pakistani diasporas to witness the first-ever India vs. Pakistan clash on the mainland of the United States of America. In addition to the new stadium in Nassau County, Grand Prairie in Dallas and Broward County in Florida are set to receive upgrades to their existing venues.
According to the board, modular stadium solutions will be implemented to expand seating capacity, enhance media facilities, and create premium hospitality areas. The final agreements for these enhancements are currently in the works, promising an immersive and world-class cricketing experience for fans and players alike.
