The third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is slated to be played at the Dharamshala Stadium, Himachal Pradesh. The game will be played from March 1 to 5 this year. The last time India and Australia played a Test match at this ground was in the 2016-17 series. The four-match series was leveled 1-1 and the home team won the game to win the series.

Meanwhile, the upcoming third game of the series might have to be shifted out. Apparently, the stadium has gone through renovation work as far as the outfield is concerned. The inspection of the ground is yet to be done and with less than a month left in the game, it is highly likely that the game might be shifted. ESPNcricinfo has reported that the Indian Cricket Board will take a final call in the next few days.

It is also reported that the board has already shortlisted the backup venues for the match. They might be Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Pune, and Indore. The reason for the outfield relaying is the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association decided to relay the outfield and fit a new drainage system. It is understood that the outfield still is not ready, and is interspersed with bald patches where the grass cover has not taken hold yet.

Meanwhile, the fans have suggested plenty of venues on social media.
