India and Sri Lanka locked horns on 12 September at R. Premadasa stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka which experienced a few showers but got to a thrilling conclusion. The Sri Lankan groundmen did a fabulous job in putting the covers on time to protect the field from heavy rains. After beating Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team has now qualified for the final game of the Asia Cup 2023. 

The Indian cricket team were dismissed for only 213 runs by the Sri Lankan squad in the super fours stage of the tournament at the end of 49.1 overs as Dunith Wellalage and Charith Asalanka took a five wicket and four wicket haul respectively. Rohit Sharma became the highest scorer for the team as he put 53 runs on the board off 48 deliveries. 

In order to qualify for the final game of the Asia Cup, the Indian Cricket Team had to dismiss Sri Lanka under 212 runs, a challenging task, India successfully achieved. The Indian Team dismissed Sri Lanka for 173 runs at the end of 41.3 overs. Kuldeep Yadav took a four wicket haul yet again for the Indian team, supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who took two wickets each. The decider match for the qualification of the finals will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 14 September.

In order to qualify for the final game of Asia Cup 2023, Sri Lanka will have to ensure a victory against Pakistan. However, even if the game is washed away due to heavy rain and the points are divided between the teams, Sri Lanka will automatically qualify for the finals game, considering the higher net run rate than Pakistan.

In order to qualify for the final game of Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan will have to ensure a victory against Sri Lanka. However, even if the game is washed away due to heavy rain and the points are divided between the teams, Pakistan will be eliminated considering their lower net run rate than Sri Lanka.
