‘At this point in time, it seems like…’ – Aakash Chopra backs Rinku Singh ahead of T20I World Cup

Rinku Singh to be the only batter in the team for the T20I World Cup.

As the T20I World Cup season is about to begin in June, experts have started talking about the Indian squad and the combinations they could have during the World Cup. Similarly, the former Indian batter Aakash Chopra anticipates Rinku Singh to be the only left-hander India would go with during the World Cup. According to him, since Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are back in the team, India would want one left-hander in the form of Rinku. India did have a couple of left-handers in the ODI World Cup squad, however, not everybody got a chance to play.

“At this point in time, it seems like that left-hander will be Rinku. You might have one or two more left-handers in the squad. Despite the preparations we did for the last year or so to play left-handers, we won’t be able to create a place for those left-handers,” said Aakash on his YouTube channel.

As always, Aakash feels Kohli and Sharma should play at the top order. Moreover, he is expecting Hardik Pandya and Surya Kumar Yadav to make a comeback. That way the team will have a complete batting line-up. Rinku Singh has played some outstanding innings for India and he is high on confidence right now. Keeping him in the middle order along with Surya will India in the World Cup.
