only a few days ago, La Liga giants Real Madrid signed a deal with 18-year-old Turkish midfielder Arda Guler from Fenerbahçe. He has signed a deal of six years with the club which will last till June 2029. The club bought him for 20 million euros, while Fenerbahce paid him 17 million euros during the previous contract. Guler requested Real Madrid to pay him more to get funds for Fenerbahce.

The 18-year-old is known as the “Turkish Messi” and has received plaudits around the world for his impressive skills and technique. After signing him, Real Madrid shared a post on Twitter in which they announced the signing of the Turkish player. And in no time it became the second most-liked post on social media. This post surpassed even the tweet of Lionel Messi which came when he joined Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Big European clubs challenged Real Madrid during Arda Güler’s signing

Los Blancos’s post about Guler has touched more than 915k+ views, which is more than that of Lionel Messi during his transfer to PSG which touched 810k+ views. This tweet became the second-highest-liked tweet in the world just behind the tweet posted by Manchester United when the Portugal skipper, Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined the club.

The youngster has played four international games for Turkey and has scored one goal for his national side so far. He has played for the under-17 team of Turkey as well, where he has played 10 games and scored four goals. He also has a reputation for being prolific from set pieces. He made 32 appearances for his previous club Fenerbahçe and scored seven goals in the league.

The youngster scored one goal in five matches in the National Cup. In the Continental Cup, Guler scored one goal in 14 appearances. According to reports, big European clubs such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona were also interested in signing the youngster.
