In just under twenty-four hours the biggest game of Asia Cup 2023 is set to take place. India will be playing their opening game of the tournament on Saturday. The first opponent for the Rohit Sharma-led team India will be arch-rivals Pakistan before they play against Nepal on Monday.

The game at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium has already become the talk of the town. The two teams meet in the ODI format for the first time since 2019. The last encounter was during the ODI World Cup in 2019 which India had won.

Mohammad Siraj comes into the tournament with a crucial few months ahead. The 29-year-old pacer will be the main weapon for Rohit Sharma. Siraj’s form is crucial not only for the Asia Cup 2023 tournament but also for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Mohammad Siraj does the iconic Ronaldo pose

Legendary Portugal football player Cristiano Ronaldo is known to have a massive fan following. The 38-year-old is known to jump up in the air and throw his arms out wide and shout ‘Siuu’ after scoring a goal.

The legendary celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen on the cricket field as well. Mohammad Siraj is known to do the same ‘Siuu’ celebration after grabbing a wicket. The Indian pace bowler was spotted doing the same iconic pose during a photo shoot ahead of the 2023 Asia Cup.

Mohammad Siraj can be seen doing this while facing away and showing his name and his jersey number. The post which went viral has got nearly 170 K likes and a host of retweets on the social media platform Twitter.

Mohammad Siraj has been India’s best bowler in the ODI format in the last two years. After playing just a single ODI game in 2019, Siraj had to wait three years to get his next game. The right-arm pacer from Hyderabad did not disappoint as he became India’s best ODI bowler.

Siraj has played 24 ODI games so far and picked 43 wickets with a best of 4/32. His best figures in ODI cricket came against Sri Lanka earlier this year. Siraj picked 24 wickets from 15 matches played in 2022. The right arm pacer had an average of 23 and a strike rate of 30 in 2022.

In 2023 Siraj has been performing better with 8 matches under his belt and picking 19 wickets. His average has come down to 13 while his bowling strike rate too has come down to 17. This will be Siraj’s first appearance in ODI cricket against Pakistan and the fans from India are hoping the Hyderabad pacer can do wonders.
