‘Bass kardo bhai ab’- Fans react as MS Dhoni ‘likely’ to participate in Indian Premier League 2024
Despite needing to play with his left knee heavily braced this season, MS Dhoni did not hesitate to miss a single Indian Premier League (IPL) match. After undergoing surgery in Mumbai earlier this month, the former India captain led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth IPL victory, and is likely to return to the field next season.
Dhoni believed during the post-match presentation after the final that the ‘ideal moment’ to retire would be after winning the trophy, but he has pledged to play for ‘at least’ one more season if his health allows. Even if it means putting in ‘difficult’ yards for the next nine months, it will be a ‘present’ to his followers. That approach remains justified, given that Dhoni will begin his comeback soon.
He knows what to do: Kasi Viswanathan
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan visited Dhoni in Mumbai and checked on his health. Dhoni has decided not to play till January or February and will rest for three weeks before commencing his comeback. According to Viswanathan, there is no need to bring up this date again. Viswanathan commented about Dhoni’s future that he is aware of his goals and the best approach to reach them. Instead of being questioned by CSK about his plans, Dhoni will communicate directly with N Srinivasan.
Viswanathan told ESPNCricinfo, “He knows what to do, how to go about it, so we aren’t going to ask him ‘what are you going to do, how’ etc. He will inform us on his own. Whatever he’s doing, he’ll call first and inform only Mr N Srinivasan, not anyone else. Factually, he’ll be straightforward with him. From him, we’ll get the information that this is what he’s doing. It’s been this way since 2008. That’s how it will continue.”
Dhoni has scored 5,082 runs at an average of 38.79 in 250 IPL games, including 24 fifties. Furthermore, he has the most dismissals by a keeper in the event (180), and he has led CSK to five IPL victories. It will be interesting to see if he returns to play the IPL 2024.

What's wrong in that? And nothing here is 'over ambitious', everyone wants to be in the history books as the single best entity.
