BCCI announce squad for three match T20I series against New Zealand, Rohit to lead
The Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced the squad for the three-match T20I series against New Zealand. Virat Kohli along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been named the skipper of the side, with KL to assist him as deputy.
Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal has made a return to the team, while Varun Chakravarty and Rahul Chahar have been dropped. Ace spinner Ravi Chandran Ashwin has held on to his place.
Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has returned to the team after recovering from the shoulder injury he picked up against England earlier this year. In the fast bowling department, India will have the services of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan and Mohammed Siraj. Venkatesh Iyer has also been rewarded with a place in the team for his astounding show in the IPL.
The three T20Is will be played in a span of 7 days, on November 17, 19, 21 in Jaipur Ranchi and Kolkata respectively.
