Ben Stokes wins hearts with his wonderful gesture for Pakistan
All the players from the England Test squad have arrived in Pakistan for the first time. The last time the Three Lions visited the Asian country was in 2005. Since then, Pakistan only hosted England in the UAE on a few occasions. Meanwhile, a few months ago, the South Asian country faced drastic floods that destroyed some parts of the country.
Meanwhile, ahead of the first Test between the two teams, England skipper Ben Stokes has announced that he will donate the entire match he will earn during the three-match series. The two-time World Cup winner took to Twitter and announced the development. He has posted a link for donation in the Tweet.
Taking to Twitter, Stokes wrote: “I’m donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal.”

It’s great to be in Pakistan for the first time: Ben Stokes
The all-rounder added that it is a great feeling for him to be in Pakistan for the Test matches. He further added that the floods had a significant impact on the people of Pakistan. Apparently more than 10 million lives were lost after the floods in Pakistan in September this year
“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be there is special. The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year was very sad to see and has had significant impact on the country and the people.”
Further in his statement, Stokes said: “The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan flood appeal. Hopefully this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding,” he added.
