Team India made a strong comeback during the 4th test match in Ranchi against England on Sunday. After ending the second day at 219/7, India were bowled out for 307. This gave England an overall lead of 46 head into the 3rd innings of the game.

Dhruv Jurel who made his debut in Rajkot was out for 46 in his maiden innings for India. On Sunday the 22-year-old showed why he is rated highly in domestic cricket. Playing with the tail the youngster brought up his first Test fifty for India.

Once he reached the mark he performed a salute as an ode to his father who is an Army Veteran. Even the England players especially Joe Root applauded the youngster after he was out.

Dhruv Jurel misses his ton in heartbreaking fashion

With India struggling on day two of the Ranchi Test, it was Dhruv Jurel who turned the game around. With Kuldeep Yadav for company, the young wicketkeeper and batter showed his talent.

Mixing caution with aggression, Dhruv Jurel played an amazing knock of 90. At one stage Team India was staring at a huge deficit when Shoaib Bashir was picking wickets at regular intervals.

At the start of day 3 both the overnight batters started slowly. James Anderson got the wicket of Kuldeep Yadav as the Indian spinner was out for 28 runs. The 29-year-old had faced 131 balls and put on 76 runs for the 8th wicket with Jurel.

Akash Deep making his Test debut batted for 29 balls as he scored 9 runs with one six. Shoaib Bashir had Akash Deep out LBW to claim his first fifer. With just Mohammed Siraj for company, Dhruv Jurel decided to open his shoulders.

The fans started to cheer when the batter was on 90 but Tom Hartley had other ideas. England got Dhruv Jurel out for 90 as the ball turned to give Hartley his 3rd wicket of the innings. The entire crowd stood up in unison to give the youngster a huge applause.

Ravichandran Ashwin had the visitors in trouble by taking three early wickets. The 37-year-old dismissed Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope of successive balls. The biggest moment of the game arrived when Ashwin got Joe Root out for 11.
