Dhruv Jurel pays tribute to India head coach Rahul Dravid on social media

The Indian team has gone on to win their 17th consecutive home series at home against England. The last Test at Ranchi was more or less the final nail in the coffin as they sealed the series 3-1 with one game to go in Dharamshala. Rohit Sharma and co have managed to achieve this even without the involvement of some senior players. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan had shown up well on the big stage with some breathtaking performances.

There was still one cricketer who might have played only two Test matches during his tenure but has given some great performances already. He is none other than 23-year-old keeper batter Dhruv Jurel. The youngster impressed everyone with his phenomenal batting and fantastic skills behind the stumps. He also played a major role in the 4th Test where he scored a brilliant 90 runs to get his side out of trouble and put up a great partnership with Shubman Gill in a tricky situation to win the game.

We also must not forget the man behind the scenes with these players. India head coach Rahul Dravid has been giving some great services as the Head coach. Rahul Dravid was even coach for the India U19 side as well. Dhruv Jurel was playing under him in the 2020 World Cup as well. Jurel had posted on social media paying tribute to the legend along with a throwback photo stating, “Junior to Senior but always a student of this great man.” Showing immense respect to Mr. Dependable.

Dhruv Jurel has already made a mark in international cricket in his first two Tests. This has made a strong case for the young player to be the permanent wicketkeeper in the future as well. There might be the likes of Rishabh Pant making a comeback, but with performances like these Jurel cannot be left out. The fact that he is still showing his devotion and respect to Dravid is also a great sign of character in him.
