‘Bhai itna ghumo phiro mat, aram karo’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant visits Delhi Capitals training camp in Bengaluru
Rishabh Pant, a flamboyant wicketkeeper-batter, stopped by M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to cheer on his colleagues as they trained in preparation for the major match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Since Pant, who has led the Capitals for the past three seasons, is still recovering from the severe injuries he suffered in the terrible automobile accident last year, he has been ruled out of the current game.
After dropping four straight games, Delhi Capitals are yet to open their account in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The David Warner-led team hasn’t performed well as a unit on the pitch, and their batting hasn’t been particularly impressive thus far in the competition. “Look who made a visit to the @DelhiCapitals training here in Bengaluru. Hello there @RishabhPant17 #TATAIPL | #RCBvDC,” IPL official Twitter handle captioned the photos.
Rishabh Pant also attended DC’s first home game at Arun Jaitley Stadium
At an earlier Indian Premier League (IPL) game between the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Pant made a point to be present. Along with DC owner Parth Jindal and Indian Cricket Board Honorary Secretary Jay Shah, Pant watched the game from the stands before going to the team’s locker room.
Although the DC’s confidence was boosted by his presence, it wasn’t enough for them to secure the two significant points. Although the host team received raucous support from the crowd, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans won with ease by six wickets, spoiling the Capitals’ homecoming.
Abishek Porel, a young Bengal wicketkeeper, has been outstanding so far behind the stumps for DC this season in Pant’s place. Due to the severity of the injuries he sustained in the automobile incident, Pant will likely be sidelined for a long time. The India star also missed the crucial home series against Australia. In the meantime, Delhi Capitals will try to snap its four-match losing streak this season when they play Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are also having a hard time with two straight losses.
