In Match 17 of the ODI World Cup 2023 in Pune, India is facing Bangladesh, with millions of fans watching the game live in the stadium, on television, and OTT platforms. Among the crowd, one particular fan is gaining attention due to her association with India opener Shubman Gill.

Sara Tendulkar is present at the MCA stadium, cheering for the Men in Blue and, notably, for Shubman Gill. The cameraman appears to have a special focus on Sara, as she frequently appears on the big screen during India’s run chase.

During India’s batting, Sara was spotted cheering and applauding after Gill scored a boundary in the 7th over when he was on 10*, and the video of this moment went viral on social media. There have been dating rumours between Sara and Gill that have circulated for some time, especially since they were seen together at a restaurant. However, neither of them has confirmed or denied these speculations to date.

Shubman Gill departed after scoring his maiden World Cup half-century

In pursuit of the target of 257 runs, the India openers, Rohit Sharma and Gill started aggressively. As we have seen so often in the tournament skipper Rohit has been the aggressor and looked to capitalize on the first 10 overs. The 36-year-old took the attack to the opposition’s new ball bowler with some counter-attacking shots.

Gill also joined the party and showed glimpses of his prime form that the right-hand batter has been carrying throughout the year. After Rohit was dismissed for a blistering 48 runs off 40 deliveries, Gill built an essential partnership with Virat Kohli. As soon as the prolific batter reached his maiden half-century, he tried to up the scoring rate but was eventually dismissed. The 23-year-old batter tried to hit a six through mid-wicket and was caught by Mahmudullah on the boundary ropes. Gill has scored close to 1300 runs in ODIs this year.
