Suryakumar Yadav has been the mainstay of the Mumbai middle order for quite sometime now. His brilliant exploits for his franchise in the Indian T20 League have earned him a place in the Indian national team. He has been a part of the team and has spent with the other members for a long enough time now. As revealed by the right hand-batter in a recent conversation, Yadav enjoys spending time with Rishabh Pant.

The dynamic wicket-keeper batter of India, Rishabh Pant is already famous for his stump mic chats. He is always seen coming up with new ways of entertaining himself within the match. Either he is singing a song or passing a humorous comment to entertain everyone involved in the game along with himself. Suryakumar Yadav has opened up on one such instance of Pant and revealed Pant’s ways of easing pressure on himself during intense situations.

Suyrakumar Yadav recalled some of the hilarious moments involving Pant from the India vs England Test in which he was a part of the Indian Test squad. He spoke of a particular instance where he was fielding in place of Cheteswar Pujara and Pant managed to make him laugh even in an intense situation of the match.

“Once I was fielding at silly point or Puji bhai in a Test in England. The match situation was tight. And suddenly Pant goes ‘Bhayia chai samosha, kuch du? Over ho gaya. Uth jao!” (Which roughly translates to ‘do you need any refreshments? Tea or Samosa? Wake up now, the over has been finished’)- Yadav recollected.

He also spoke of Rishabh’s unique tactic while changing the field. Yadav says that the keeper uses confusing hand gestures to change the field and then clarifies that he was getting bored and hence did the same asking the fielder to stay at their original position.

“Rishabh is too good when he is keeping. He moves me just 20 cm. Sometimes he does this (showing the hand gesture) and it confuses me where to go. Then he says ‘nothing bhaiya, was just getting bored. Please stand wherever you are”- added Yadav.
