Gujarat Giants continued to endure more misery as they lost yet another game during WPL 2024 season. On Sunday Beth Mooney’s side went down Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru. For the Delhi side it was a completely dominant performance right from the start of the game.

It was Gujarat who won the toss and chose to bowl first keeping in with the tradition of the tournament. Both sides made two changes to their team with Marizzane Kapp being ruled out of the game. For Gujarat it was the loss of Harleen Deol and Sneh Rana that was a huge loss.

Australia duo of Meg Lanning and Jess Jonnasen were the bright lights with the bat and ball. The veteran Australian batter and Delhi skipper scored a brilliant half-century with the bat. Gujarat Giants didn’t show their potential with the bat as they fell to yet another loss this season.

Delhi Capitals romp home to easy win –

With wickets falling at regular intervals, Meg Lanning kept the scorecard ticking. The 31-year-old scored yet another amazing half-century in WPL. Her knock came off 31 balls with 6 fours and a six before becoming the 3rd wicket to fall for Delhi. This knock helped The Capitals post a competitive 163 on the board.

Shikha Pandey struck first when she went past the defense of Laura Wolvaardt for a duck. Jess Jonnasen then struck twide to dismiss Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield. Ashleigh Gardner top scored with 40 as none of the other Gujarat batters put up a fight. Radha Yadav and Jess Jonnassen picked three wickets each as Delhi Capitals went to the top of the table.
