BBL 02 – Semi-Final – Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers
The East Melbourne-based team faced Perth in the second semifinal of the second season of the tournament. It was a rain-affected game and was reduced to 18-over a side. The Stars batted first and scored 183/2.
However, the rain impacted the game once again and the game was reduced to 13-overs a side. The target was revised to 139 runs. On the last ball, James Faulkner bowled a no-ball when this side, Stars needed to defend three runs in one ball. At this point, Perth batters stole a bye and reduced the margin to one run in as many balls. In the end, Perth won the game by eight wickets.
