In the opening game of the ongoing season, the 2015-16 winners, Thunders bowled first after winning the toss. The decision proved right as they managed to restrict the opposition to 122/8.
In reply, the four-time finalists, Stars took nine wickets for just 115 runs. However, the likes of Gurinder Sandhu and Brendan Doggett proved to be unlikely heroes with the bat. Their side won the game by just one wicket.
