 Breaking! Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma Comes Out Of Isolation

While the Indian Test Team is busy playing the fifth rescheduled Test Match against England in Birmingham, good news came out as India’s skipper Rohit Sharma came out of isolation ahead of the limited over series against England.

Before this Test match, Rohit got ruled out of it due to Covid-19 infection. The news got confirmed on the eve of the match and thus, the captaincy duties got shifted to Jasprit Bumrah. Rohit went under an isolation period for further treatment. However, in the ongoing match, India is performing well so far under the captaincy of Bumrah.

Rohit has tested negative and is out of quarantine: Indian Cricket Board official

Speaking to the Hindu, an official member of the Indian Cricket Board said that Rohit Sharma has tested negative and is now out of quarantine. He said: “Yes, Rohit has tested negative and as per medical protocols is now out of quarantine. However, he is not playing today’s T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire as he will need some recovery time and training ahead of the first T20I,”

Notably, Rohit Sharma was seen in the Indian nets also with a bat. The limited over series is going to kick off on 7 July 2022 as India is scheduled for a three-match T20Is and three ODIs against England. Earlier this week, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squads for the series, and Rohit Sharma was added to it as the leader of the group.

Speaking about the current ongoing Test match, India was asked to bat after England won the toss. While batting first, India scored 416 runs in their first innings. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik were the stars of the show. In reply, England got bundled out for 284 runs. Jonny Bairstow continued his form as he scored his consecutive third hundred in the last three matches. As of now, India is batting at a score of 37 runs by losing one wicket with a lead of 169 runs.
