Brian Lara puts his weight behind Pakistan to beat Australia in semi-final
West Indies legend Brian Lara has backed Pakistan to join New Zealand in the final of the 20-20 World Cup. New Zealand defeated England in the first semifinal by 5 wickets to book a berth in the final. Meanwhile, Pakistan will take on Australia in the second semifinal at the Dubai International Stadium on November 11.
Pakistan have been on a rampage in the showpiece event. They are the only team that are yet to lose in the competition. Lara feels Pakistan have all their bases covered and will be very hard to stop.
“My Prediction – #Pakistan #Australia is a very dangerous team. They’ve got a strong lineup that can beat anyone. But Pakistan has the bowling & batting prowess to keep them at bay & make the finals,” Lara posted on his Twitter account early Thursday.

While Pakistan have been brilliant, Australia have enjoyed a decent run as well. Barring a blip against England, they have been outstanding and swept aside every team that have come their way. Overall, Pakistan have dominated Australia in T20Is, winning 13 of the 23 games and they’ll be hoping to add one more win to the tally.
For Australia, they will be happy to see David Warner return to form. An in-form David Warner makes a lot of difference to this Australian unit. Overall, the teams are evenly matched and the game is set to be a cracking encounter.
