Cameron Green tested positive for Covid ahead of 2nd Test match against the West Indies

Ahead of the 2nd Test match between Australia and West Indies in Brisbane, the COVID-19 virus has hit the Australian camp as all-rounder Cameron Green and head coach Andrew McDonald have tested positive.

As they both have tested positive for COVID, they have been separated from the squad until they are tested negative.

Cameron Green has a good performance at the No.4 position for Western Australia in domestic cricket and was set to take up the position of Steven Smith, who was a perfect fit at that position for a long time.

Green, coming to bat at the No.4 position, didn’t go well as he was out for runs in the first innings by Shamar Joseph.  In the second innings, he didn’t get a chance to bat as Australia won against West Indies by 10 wickets.

Green will also have to be eager to have big scores under his name in the new batting position as he lost his place in the Test side to Michell Marsh last year, he knows the importance of getting runs. Meanwhile, this will not prevent Green or McDonald from participating in the match by CA protocols if they do not test negative during the following 24 hours.

Travis Head tested negative for COVID

In the meantime, Australians will announce the squad for the second Test match against the West Indies which is going to take place in Brisbane from 25th January.

In the meantime, Travis Head who tested positive for COVID during the first Test match against the West Indies in Adelaide has been turned negative in the latest test. As per the statement by the board, Head is set to join Aussies camp in Brisbane from Wednesday.

Australia gain an easy win over the West Indies in the 1st Test match at Adelaide Oval. Travis Head smashed 119 runs in the first innings and put a score of 283 with a lead of 95 runs.  The Aussies have the 1-0 lead in the 3-match Test series.
