 ‘Clown batting by our boys’ – Fans seethe with rage as India lose six wickets for no runs during First Test in Cape Town

Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi bowled an inspired to spell bowl out Team India for 153 runs. At one stage India were placed at 153/4 with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul batting together. The entire game changed inside two overs with Ngidi claiming three wickets in a single over. It was a disastrous show with the bat by India after the Tea session which left every fan across the world stunned.

Twenty wickets fell on day 1 as two innings were completed during an eventful opening day in Cape Town. Earlier in the morning session, South Africa were bowled out for 55 runs just before the Luncheon break.

Indian batters commit hara-kiri against South Africa –

After being bowled out for 55 in their 1st innings, South African bowlers came out firing. Kagiso Rabada got the first wicket when he had Yashasvi Jaiswal out for a duck. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma then added 55 for the second wicket to help India take the lead. Nandre Burger in his second spell did the difference with the ball.

Rohit Sharma played away from his body to be caught by Marco Jansen for 39. Shubman Gill was the next to go as he was out for 36 to the Jansen and Burger duo. Shreyas Iyer lasted just two balls before falling for a duck to give Burger his third wicket. As the teams took Tea, it was expected that Virat Kohli and KL Rahul would help the team see out the day.

Lungi Ngidi changed the game in the 34th over of the innings. KL Rahul was out caught behind for 8, two balls later Jadeja was out for a duck caught by Jansen. The action wasn’t done though as Jasprit Bumrah spooned an easy catch to Jansen to give Ngidi his 3rd wicket. Marco Jansen had taken four catches during the innings as the home team was mounting a comeback.

The next over, Kagiso Rabada got the big wicket of Virat Kohli for 48 to a massive roar in the stands. Two balls late Mohammed Siraj was run out after a comical mix-up saw India lose its 9th wicket. The end came the next ball as Markram held on to an easy catch off Rabada to dismiss Prasidh Krishna for a duck.
