‘Cracking Stuff – Umran Malik’s thrilling 4-wicket maiden final over leaves Twitter in awe
Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik bowled a magnificent final over against Punjab in the ongoing game. Malik bowled a three-wicket maiden in the last over of Punjab’s innings. Notably, apart from the three wickets of Malik, the last batter Arshdeep Singh was run out by oppositions skipper Kane Williamson. His spell reads four wickets for 28 runs in his full quota of four overs.
The right-arm speedster came into bowl for the first time in the eighth over of the innings. His spell started with a boundary by Jitesh Sharma. On the last ball of the over, Malik took his revenge against Sharma with the quick bouncer. The latter tried to play the pull shot but the ball hit the outer half of the bat. The bowler took the catch on his own bowling while running towards the batter.
However, the Jammu and Kashmir player bowled well in patches in his next two overs but was hit for a few boundaries. He was hit for two sixes and a four by Liam Livingstone. In between those boundaries, he bowled a few dot balls and cranked up high pace, just like he has been doing in the tournament. After three overs, his spell read three overs, 28 for one.
He then came into bowl in the last over of Punjab’s innings as the scorecard read 151/6. The 22-year-old started the over with a dot ball to Odean Smith. On the next ball, Smith tried to pull a back of the length delivery but the ball hit the outside part of the bat. Malik took another caught and bowled chance running towards the batter on the next balk when Smith mistimed a short ball. Rahul Chahar came into bat and was bowled on the first ball, the fourth ball of the over
On the next ball, the pacer clean bowled Vaibhav Arora with a quick delivery aiming at the stumps. At this stage, he was on a hat-trick. However, Arshdeep Singh played a drive towards the covers which was stopped by Kane Williamson. The former got run-out and the team was all-out on 151.
Meanwhile, fans had some great reactions to Umran Mailk’s fiery spell.

Umran Malik’s electrifying pace has sent stumps flying and Punjab batsmen running for cover. Bhuvaneshwar, Natarajan and Jansen splendid too in stifling runs in spite of a blazing knock by Livingstone. SRH’s match to lose from here
