‘Credit goes to the bowlers’ – Michael Bracewell smashed blistering century during Bangalore’s practice game ahead of Indian T20 league

The franchises are gearing up for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League, which is all set to start in a few hours with the opening match between the defending champions Gujarat and Chennai at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the Bangalore franchise will begin their 2023 campaign on April 2nd with a match against the Mumbai franchise at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

Bangalore already suffered a big blow ahead of the upcoming season after Will Jacks got ruled out of the tournament due to an Injury. The franchise bought the English all-rounder for INR 3.2 crores in the 2023 auction. However, Bangalore have already found a replacement for Jacks as they signed Michael Bracewell ahead of the upcoming tournament. The New Zealand batting all-rounder will be playing his first season in the Indian T20 League. The 32-year-old went unsold in the 2023 auction with a base price of 1 crore.

It looks like the Bangalore franchise have made the right decision by picking Bracewell as he already showed his batting masterclass during the practice game ahead of the tournament. The right-handed batter smashed 105 runs off 55 balls during the practice and ensured that he could be a crucial player for Bangalore in the upcoming season. 

Can Bangalore end their title drought in the upcoming season?

Bangalore already have star batters like the skipper Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell. While the wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik and Rajat Patidar also had a great outing in the 2022 season. The inclusion of Bracewell could provide more strength to Bangalore’s star-studded batting lineup.

Bangalore have been waiting for their first title in the Indian T20 League for the last 15 years. Faf du Plessis will be looking to change the fortunes of the franchise and finally lead them to clinch the title in the upcoming season.
