England has qualified for the final of the 20-20 World Cup for the third time since 2010. At that time, they beat Australia to clinch the title. Six years, Carlos Braithwaite’s four sixes to Ben Stokes prevented the Three Lions to win their second title. However, now, they have gotten another opportunity to win their second 20-20 World Cup title as they lock horns with Pakistan on November 13.

Meanwhile, ahead of the game, a lot of former cricketers and pundits have been predicting the winner of the summit clash. One such former player was Ravi Bopara who played for England in the 2010 campaign. He took to Twitter and started by praising his team’s ‘ruthlessness’ during the tournament. However, the all-rounder maintained that the only team can challenge the Jos Buttler-led side is Pakistan.

“Great performance and display of power and ruthlessness from England. There’s only one team that can actually challenge England and that is Pakistan. Otherwise If England could enter a 2ndXI in the #T20Iworldcup2022 it would be a England v England2XI Final. #fact #milesahead,” Bopara wrote on his official Twitter account.

In reply, Cricket Ireland posted a short with a ‘heartburning’ reply. They put out a two-worded tweet that reads ‘<clears throat>’.

For the unversed, the Irish beat the 2010 winners by five runs in a rain-impacted game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This was touted as the ‘costly’ loss given the kind of tournament the fans have seen. However, the team managed to brush aside the defeat and went on beat New Zealand and Sri Lanka while their game against Australia was washed out. These results helped the team to qualify for the semis. In the game, they beat India by the record of 10 wickets to qualify for the summit clash. Notably, it will be a repeat of the 1992 ODI World Cup final in which Pakistan and England met.
