KL Rahul is having a torrid time as a player in the last few months. After the 20-20 World Cup 2022, fans have been trolling for his poor performance against high-level teams. Not to forget, on the tour of Bangladesh, he could only score one fifty after playing three ODIs and two Tests. Also, him being the vice-captain of the team across formats didn’t help his case.

Now, he has been rested for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. It is reported that the right-hander will be getting married. The Bangalore player will return to the game for the three-match ODI that will follow. Notably, he has been removed from the vice-captaincy job. Meanwhile, the Lucknow player in the Indian T20 League post a few pictures with Athiya Shetty on Twitter.

The fans have taken the opportunity to troll Rahul.

KL Rahul must concentrate on performing against Sri Lanka: Gautam Gambhir

Recently, former India opening and KL Rahul’s mentor in the Lucknow team, Gautam Gambhir urged his pupil to look to score against Sri Lanka. The latter added that international cricket is all about performance.

“If you don’t perform, someone else will take your position. That’s not only with Sanju or KL, it’s with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as well. If they don’t perform, you will start questioning about their positions too. That’s what international cricket is about. No one is indispensable. So you got three ODIs, you bat in the middle-order, try and get those runs, because ultimately it’s the performance that keeps you in the side. Not the name, not your talent,” Gambhir said in Star Sports’ A Chat with Champions.
