The most important fixtures of the Indian T20 League 2022 began with Qualifier 1 of the tournament yesterday (24th May). Gujarat and Rajasthan faced off in an important clash at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

A place at the finals of the tournament was at stake and the two teams gave their best to be the first finalists of the tournament. The match went down to the last over and it was a special effort from Miller that helped Gujarat get over the line. Miller’s team required 16 runs in the last over and he slammed three sixes off the first three balls to end the match. He remained unbeaten on 68 runs off 38 balls hitting 3 fours and 5 sixes and played a prime role in making Gujarat the first finalists of the tournament. His special efforts earned him the Player of the Match award.

Although, it is for social media activity that Miller has grabbed attention after the match. After the match was over the southpaw took to Twitter and apologized to the fans and supporters of the Rajasthan franchise. Notably, the South African was a part of Rajasthan’s squad for the last couple of seasons. Miller Tweeted- “Sorry #RoyalsFamily”.

This gesture earned him the attention of the fans and supporters of the Men in Pink. While some of the fans felt sorry that the franchise released the batter others criticized the man and said that he was lucky to have scored runs this season.

Speaking of Miller’s run in the Indian T20 League 2022, he has been in brilliant form throughout the tournament. In the 15 matches he has played in the 15th edition of the tournament, the South African batter has scored 449 runs at an average of 64.14 and a strike rate of 141.19. As far as runs are concerned this has been the best Indian T20 League season for Miller. They will need his finishing skills in the final of the tournament on the 29th of May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
