The inaugural season of the new T20 League in UAE is going to start from 6th January to 12th February 2023. Franchise owners of the Indian T20 League are going to back this league financially. Several International players are looking to participate in the first season of that new T20 League. However, reports are suggesting that star Australian batter, David Warner might choose this new league over the Big Bash League.

The Australian T20 League is starting in December 2022. Hence, David Warner might miss this next edition to participate in the UAE T20 League. However, nothing is finalized yet but proceedings may start soon. As per a report by News Corp, Warner is busy negotiating to join the UAE T20 League as it will be more financially backed.

Cricket Australia might not allow David Warner to take such a decision

Several reports have suggested that each of the six teams will have a $2 million salary cap. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Mubashir Usmani, the secretary-general of the Emirates Cricket Board said: “Each franchise will be allowed to sign four players of their choice outside of the draft or auction, which we will decide later. It could be any player who has a NOC from his home board,”

However, there are possibilities that Cricket Australia might not allow him to join this new League over the Big Bash. They will look to not provide any NOC to him. Even though, they might think to make BBL attendance mandatory to prevent such issues in the near future. Speaking of this new T20 League, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) announced it in June.

The tournament is going to take place from 6 January to 12 February 2023. Six different franchises will play a total number of 34 matches. All these matches will take place in three different stadiums Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah for the inaugural season. Speaking about David Warner, he played for two different franchises in the Big Bash League so far in his career.
