‘Dheere dheere sab chhodke chale jayenge’ – Fans react to Sergio Ramos leaving PSG at the end of the season
Following PSG’s final match against Clermont on Saturday, defender Sergio Ramos has made the decision to quit the team. During his two-year stay, Ramos thanked the city’s supporters on Twitter for making Paris seem like home. The Spanish defender joined the team in 2021 and has helped them win two league championships.
As soon as Sergio Ramos revealed he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of the current campaign, Saudi Pro League clubs reportedly began contacting him. In a moving social media post, Ramos declared that his match against Clement Foot would be his final. Romano claims that the illustrious defender may be moving over to the Saudi Pro League.
“I will say goodbye to another stage of my life” : Sergio Ramos
Sergio Ramos signed with the Parisian side in 2021 and has since played in 57 matches. He played just 13 times in his rookie season due to injuries. Ramos, nevertheless, was a regular in the defence for the Ligue 1 heavyweights in his second campaign, appearing in 44 games across all competitions.
Three awards, including two Ligue 1 championships, were earned by the former Real Madrid as well as Spain captain when he was living in Paris. He wrote a goodbye message as he said, “Tomorrow is a special day, tomorrow I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to @PSG_inside. I don’t know in how many places one can feel at home, but without a doubt PSG, the fans, and Paris were one of them for me. Thank you for two special years in which I was able [to] play in every tournament and give my all. I will face new challenges, I will wear other colours, but first, and for the last time: ¡#AllezParis!”
At Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos proved to be a consistent winner. However, the former captain of Los Blancos had a challenging debut campaign in France. His settling process was impacted by ongoing injury problems.
