Rajasthan Royals registered a thrilling victory by 3 runs against Chennai Super Kings at their home ground: M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday. CSK required 21 runs off the last over while chasing 176, with the skipper MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease.
Sandeep Sharma bowled the last over for RR. Dhoni put the pressure on the bowler by hitting two back-to-back sixes and the match went down to the last ball with 5 runs remaining.
After that, Sandeep bowled the perfect yorker and Dhoni could only get a single, and RR became victorious at Chepauk after 2008. Despite the win, RR skipper Sanju Samson admitted that the game was far away from his team till Dhoni was on the crease. Samson said that no data works against the CSK skipper.

“Did you feel you had the game in your pocket in the last two overs?” Sanjay Manjrekar asked Samson after the post-match presentation. To which Samson replied, “No sir, never when you have that guy (MS Dhoni) in the middle.”
“You have to respect that guy and know what he can do in the middle. Everyone was involved and the match is not over till the last ball. I do a lot of planning, research and sit down with the data team but a lot of calls have to be taken inside the ground looking at who is bowling well at what point. I only played two balls but I’m drained as if I have scored a hundred. A lot of thoughts are going around,” Samson added.
“Nothing. Nothing works, no data, nothing,” Samson replied when was asked about the plan or data to stop Dhoni.
Dhoni remained unbeaten on 32 off 17, hitting one four and three sixes, while Jadeja scored 25 off 15 with one four and two sixes. Both put up an unbeaten partnership of 59 runs for the seventh wicket as CSK could reach 172 for 6 in reply to RR’s 175 for 8.
