Rohit Sharma played a spectacular knock against England in the first ODI of their three-match series. He scored a quick-fire half-century while chasing a small total of 111 runs. Along with Shikhar Dhawan, he comfortably won the match by 10 wickets for India.

In his innings of 76 runs in 58 balls, Rohit hit five sixes and six boundaries. One of those sixes hit a child in the stands. In the fifth over of the innings, he hit a 79-meter six with a pull shot against David Willey. The ball went on to hit the girl named Meera Salvi.

“It seems someone in the crowd may have gotten hit by this six from Rohit Sharma. Fingers crossed… nobody is hurt,” said Michael Atherton in the commentary box. “Yes, looks that way. The way Rohit is looking towards that area, he might have got the message it’s probably hit someone,” Ravi Shastri replied.

The game was halted for a while to ensure that everything was right. The six-year-old girl received medical treatment, and the game was soon restarted. After the game, Rohit Sharma made a visit to a girl in the audience and gave her a Teddy bear. He also got her father’s phone number. Furthermore, the England Cricket Team presented her with their jersey.
