WATCH: Fan breaches security to hug and touch Virat Kohli’s feet during 2nd T20I vs Afghanistan
Team India won the second T20I game against Afghanistan on January 14 at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. However, an emotional scene was spotted during the play when a young fan came towards Virat Kohli to hug him and touch his feet in the game. Meanwhile, reports claim that the young boy was detained by police and taken into custody for further investigation.
The crowd was extremely ecstatic to witness Virat Kohli back in T20Is, as he wasn’t part of Team India in the shortest format of the game since India’s 10-wicket loss in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 against England in Adelaide. However, the fan went a bit too far and somehow managed to breach security to reach near the swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli in the game. The young boy hugged him and touched his feet. Notably, the clip of his act has gone viral, showing the craze for India’s star cricketer in Indore.
However, the PTI agency reported that the young boy was a huge fan of Virat Kohli, who somehow managed to climb from the spectator gallery to see India’s right-handed batter in the game. Meanwhile, a young boy named Aarav took to Twitter and wrote that his wish of hugging Virat Kohli was fulfilled during the clash.

Virat Kohli played a great role in guiding India towards the final of the ODI World Cup 2023
The 35-year-old cricketer missed the first T20I game due to personal reasons. However, reports claim that Vamika’s third birthday was the reason for Virat Kohli’s absence from the game. The dashing batter played his first T20I game after a gap of 14 months.
The batting stalwart was the leading run scorer in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 and played a great role in guiding India towards the final of the tournament. However, Rohit Sharma and Co. suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final against Australia at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on November 19.
