For every cricket fan, it is quite obvious that 36 runs can be scored most in six legal deliveries. But, 77 runs is the highest amount of runs given in an over of the history of the game. Wellington’s Bert Vance conceded 77 runs in an over in a first-class match against Canterbury on February 20, 1990.

Speaking about the match, Canterbury needed 95 runs in two overs and Vance bowled a 22-ball over to them to encourage them to go after the target and lose wickets. He bowled 17 no balls and eventually, the umpire also failed to track that properly.
