The Indian T20 League is seen as a platform for young players to showcase their skills and make it big in the cricketing world. Often undiscovered young talents have caught the eyes of the world with their performances in the tournament. With all the energy and enthusiasm, it is the launchpad for youngsters.
But this doesn’t mean that players who are on the wrong side of the 30s now are ignored. The League has seen players like Pravin Tambe making a debut at the age of 41. Many other players, in spite of their age factor, have used this platform to return to the limelight.
Here is a look at the five oldest players in the Indian T20 League 2022.
5. Mohammad Nabi (37 years): Mohammad Nabi has been an integral part of Afghanistan cricket. Under the political turmoil that his country is facing, it was Nabi who sponsored his team’s campaign at the 20-20 World Cup of 2021.
Nabi is a very powerful lower-order batter, with a strike rate of 151.3 in his Indian T20 League career. He also bowls some economical off-spin overs. Nabi is a part of the Kolkata squad for the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League. Though he might be a backup option for the team, his experience will be of great value in the dressing room.
